Tea towel designs (2024)
I was exploring making material products so I painted on paper, to size, 4 tea towel designs exploring how the fabric/tea towel moves when in use. I didn’t pursue making the tea towels after cost & environmental analysis.
With You In Mind
A series of cards designed to size (a5), painted with people I’ve loved, still love, and have lost. I painted these to commemorate communities, transitions, family, ex’s, lovers, friends and self. These were printed on 100% recycled paper, sold at local shops. Packaging was carbon neutral. They’ve been stocked in Naarm (Melbourne) and Berlin.

A castle housing birds, spiders. Hot air balloons in background. There’s a vegetable patch, a dock with a boat. A girl on a swing. A path leading to a spiders nest. An earth ship castle, what modern day living could be. 90cmX50cm
Whales singing amongst the wind farms. We relate to each other when we hear each others song; our song, the yearning that connects us to place. The lands song which calls you to a jungle, an island, a beach. The whales song, the wind farms song, begging us to use natural resources/ the earth to connect us, and not separate us.

A stingray, a whale, a shark swimming off into the distance. A starfish, kelp.
This is exploring what it feels to connect with sea kin. We stay in our lane, we hang out, we get comfortable with each other and then the world doesn’t feel so scary.

A timepiece, the hands are off. Time stands still. The wind farm moves slowly, a sheep strays away from being counted, whales swim, a castle floats.
This piece is how things always exist all once, it is removing linear time practices by being able to see & hold time with space. The music here is inspired by the sheep on my families property that I befriended.

Dragons in the sky (like the draig of Wales). Three people perform ritual by a fire. A cat in the foreground. Shooting stars and constellations.
This is my favourite activity: being by a fire, telling stories and having yarns.

A train that traverses on water, passing mountains, a whale leaps out of the water.
This is exploring the feeling of being on a long train ride. It’s the timelessness. It’s the changing skies, the wind, sunrise over the water, stars twinkling through, that glimmer of joy that the world is beautiful. It’s bliss.

The final piece in this series. Wonder Girl is on her way home from traversing space, time. She says hello to her neighbours, and acknowledges the lands shes seen before she rests in her cove.
This is about confronting monsters/ the unknown, befriending them, exploring the world/yourself and taking time to go home, process and hide from the world.
